Every skipper on Selkie is qualified by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, and there is always a guide on deck with you to point out what you are looking at.

On board

Charles, owner and skipper. Charles has spent his whole life on boats, running commercial and leisure vessels around Ireland and Scotland. He came over to buy a boat more than 20 years ago and stayed on the north coast. He is a qualified marine mammal observer and a keen bird watcher, and he has trained other skippers and powerboat instructors, so you are in safe hands.

James, crew and guide. James is your guide on deck and the photographer behind many of the pictures on this website. Ask him what that bird is. He will know, and he has probably photographed it. You can see more of his work on Instagram: @orange_in_the_blue.

Francis, crew and guide. Francis has a passion for photography, wildlife above all, and for the history of this coast. Ask him about any headland and you will get a story.

The other half of Kintra

Dawn, owner. Dawn owns and runs Kintra together with Charles. She studied environmental sciences and specialised in the protection of the marine environment, and she is an RYA instructor, a powerboater and a sailor. She is not on board every day at the moment.
