Our Crew

All Boatmasters onboard Kintra are fully qualified by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. We will also have a dedicated crew member on board to guide you through your tour.

Charles, Owner/ Boatmaster has spent all his life on boats, running commercial and leisure vessels around Ireland and Scotland. Arriving in Ireland to buy a boat over 20 years ago he decided to stay on the north coast. A qualified marine mammal observer and keen bird watcher he will keep you well informed. As well as being a skipper himself, Charles has spent time training other skippers and instructors in the powerboat world so you will be in safe hands.

Dawn, Skipper/Boatmaster, studied environmental sciences and specialised in the protection and conservation of the marine environment. Dawn is also an RYA instructor keen powerboater and sailor. She will keep you up to date on the special environmental protections and wildlife around the north coast.

Steve, Crew member/Guide is a keen kayaker and is always full of enthusiasm and knowledge of Rathlin sound and the wildlife and tides we are surrounded by. 

Francis, Crew member/Guide has a passion for photography, particularly wildlife. Always interested in the history of the area he will fill you in on many interesting facts during your tour.

Jack, Crew member/Guide, Jack is our onboard photographer and is very knowledgable on the local wildlife along the coast.  

Oisin, Crew member/Guide, Oisin is our helpful zoologist always ready to answer your questions on the wildlife in the area, with an in-depth knowledge of our bird species.

Ellen, Crew member/Guide, Ellen is a keen sailor who has joined the team. She is very chatty and is always on hand to help.

Leah, Crew member/Guide, Leah loves her powerboats and paddle boards. she took to the water during Covid and hasn't looked back.
