Rathlin Island in the quieter months: the same cliffs, caves and lighthouses, with the crowds gone and the seals still home. Finished with a whole hour ashore on the island itself.
On the water
– From Ballycastle harbour along Rathlin's rugged Atlantic coastline
– Towering cliffs, hidden sea caves and remote lighthouses
– Live commentary from our local crew the whole way
Wildlife you may see
– Seals hauled out on the rocks and bobbing in the coves
– Dolphins and porpoises along the route (never guaranteed)
– Resident seabirds on the cliffs and the water
– Late summer brings the odd minke whale or basking shark (rare and never promised, but it happens)
– No puffins on this one: by late August they're back out at sea
Your hour ashore at Church Bay
– Visit the Boathouse Visitor Centre
– Wander the harbour and village
– Coffee or a bite at the Manor House or McCuaig's (not included)
Good to know
– Layers and flat shoes recommended (Dryrobes are great)
– Toilets onboard and on Rathlin
– We can't promise wildlife, but the crew will always help you look
